Young Mauritanian civil society activist, Hawa Bâ is the president of the network of young ambassadors for reproductive health and family planning. This network is a product of the coalition ” Together let’s space out our births in Mauritania ” (ENEM) of the Ouagadougou partnership. Through interpersonal, mass communication and digital platforms including social media, Hawa informs and provides the necessary tools for youth to engage in real behavior change.

Very involved in the GFF process, Hawa Bâ is a member of the executive board of the coalition of civil society organizations on GFF in Mauritania, where she represents for young people. She supports the secretariat of the coalition in the organization and communication of activities related to the GFF. Having participated in the training of trainers for the regional coordinators of the GFF CSO coalition members, Hawa Bâ has thus strengthened her knowledge of the GFF process and contributed to the civil society action plan aimed at contributing to the investment file, currently being finalized.

For Hawa, involving youth in planning health programs and addressing their concerns begins with improving their access to information on sexual and reproductive health issues. Through the project supported by the GFF Hub, she will contribute to better equip her peers to raise awareness on ARJH, but also to continue the advocacy to integrate the national platform of the GFF.
