Rwandan CSOs elect new representatives to their GFF platform

Tuesday, 17th November, 2020 saw CSOs gathering at Nobleza Hotel in Kigali-Rwanda to engage CSO’s in the GFF processes to share updates on current national priorities and programs on integrated Early Child Development (ECD) services and subsequently discuss the contribution of CSOs in integrated ECD interventions towards stunting prevention and reduction in Rwanda.

Tuesday, 17th November, 2020 saw CSOs gathering at Nobleza Hotel in Kigali-Rwanda to engage CSO’s in the GFF processes to share updates on current national priorities and programs on integrated Early Child Development (ECD) services and subsequently discuss the contribution of CSOs in integrated ECD interventions towards stunting prevention and reduction in Rwanda. The meeting was held specifically to:

  • To Promote the role of CSOs in the Global Financing Facility(GFF) process and the contribution of civil society organizations in Early Child Development (ECDs) and the process of fighting malnutrition in Rwanda.
  • Strengthen the Civil Society GFF platform for effective engagement in the GFF processes in Rwanda.

The GFF liaison officer, Mr.Canut Dufitumukiza, commended CSOs efforts to come together and come up with a common voice in their engagement in the GFF processes. 

The CSOs who deliberated on their active and meaningful participation in the GFF process finally elected their representatives in the CSOs GFF platform for a more effective engagement with other Stakeholders and partners in the GFF implementation process. Elected CSOs GFF platform include:

Bureau:  Chair (HDI); Vice Chair –IMRO; Secretary General -RNGOF on HIV/AIDS and HP

Advisors: Food Security/ Nutrition- DUHAMIC; ECD -Strive Foundation Rwanda; Youth- Afriyan; Gender- RDFP; WASH-FVA; Health-Dream village; Social Protection- USADEC; Resource mobilization -ANSP+.

The new Chair, Dr. Aflodis Kagaba representing HDI thanked CSOs for the trust they have put in the new Committee and pledged to do everything possible and ensure meaningful participation of CSOs in the GFF process.
