The GFF-UHC CSO platform was involved and worked with government and partners to participate in the GFF process and develop the investment case. The platform is multisectoral and includes community-based organizations, religious, young people, etc. The activities of the members of the platform are already contributing to one of the priorities of the investment case which is to accelerate the government's efforts to end preventable deaths of mothers, children, newborns and adolescents in order to improve their quality of life.

The Coronavirus pandemic has slowed civil society’s engagement in the GFF process. However, members of the platform continued to gather and reach out to communities and health workers and advocate to ensure the continuity of essential services of SRMNEA-N. The lack of financial and technical resources limits the capacity of platform members to host a secretariat to coordinate activities, communicate with members but also finalize its action plan and monitor the implementation of the GFF process. A new project, supported by the GFF Hub, focuses on youth health with the objectives of.

  1. Strengthening the offer and access of Adolescents and Youth to integrated sexual and reproductive health services adapted to their needs in the district of Bamako
  2. To increase the demand by improving their knowledge on these services.

The implementation of this project may meet certain challenges in terms of monitoring the implementation, while waiting for the coalition to mobilize more resources to fully play its role of watch, monitoring and accountability around the GFF.
