SOS Youth and Challenges (SOS JD) in partnership with the Reproductive Health Technical Group (GTSR) and the Civil Society Network for Nutrition (RESONUT), is implementing a project supported by a GFF grant from Management Sciences for Health (MSH). This project aims to improve the mobilization of national resources and accountability for the Health and Nutrition of women, children, and adolescents, and to obtain ownership of the investment case by civil society actors.

The “Motion Tracker” tool, which will be one of the family planning investment case indicators monitoring tools, is being implemented by civil society in Burkina Faso. Seen as an advocacy tool to improve transparency and accountability, the motion tracker is complementary to other tools such as PMA2020, TRACK20, DHS, FP2020. This process is ongoing and has been recommended by the Ouagadougou Partnership Coordination Unit (UCPO).

Thus, this synergy of action through the complementarity and pooling of the consortium's efforts on the implementation of the project has given great leaps in terms of monitoring and calling the State on its commitments on the GFF. The project is still ongoing and has allowed to obtain these few results despite the COVID pandemic:

  • The communities at the base of the priority regions have ownership over the GFF and the Burkina Faso investment case
  •  Resources are mobilized at the national level to finance the investment case
  •  The accountability of the investment case to the populations is improved
  •  The communities have forums of discussion about the implementation status of the investment case
